APPLICATION & DUTY

Where KYN28A-12 fits

KYN28A-12 is indoor metal-clad withdrawable switchgear for distribution, protection and monitoring. The compartmented design separates busbars, breaker truck, cables and secondary instruments. Main-circuit rating and the actual load-switching duty are selected together.

Construction & operating functions

DETAIL / 01

Four functional compartments

The arrangement separates the busbar, breaker-truck, cable and relay/instrument sections. This organisation helps identify the space and interfaces required for each part of the feeder.

DETAIL / 02

Truck and secondary connection

The breaker truck, shutter and secondary-plug arrangement are part of the withdrawable design. Matching these interfaces is essential for a replacement truck or breaker enquiry.

DETAIL / 03

Earthing and cable equipment

The construction drawing includes the earthing switch, cable terminations, current transformers and surge-protection location. The actual equipment list depends on the selected circuit.

DETAIL / 04

Pressure relief and heating

Pressure-relief and heating provisions are shown in the design. Room layout and auxiliary-supply requirements should accommodate the selected arrangement.

DETAIL / 05

Motor and capacitor duties

Motor and capacitor switching are duty-specific applications. Provide the load characteristics and required operating duty so the appropriate breaker and protective arrangement can be reviewed.

SPECIFICATION & INTEGRATIONReview equipment installation

Match the installation drawing, cable routes, clearances and electrical duty for the selected equipment.

Illustrative working scene
Electrical rating
Select the voltage class, current, short-circuit breaking duty and withstand duty as a matched combination.
Secondary scheme
Provide CT/PT ratios, relay functions, trip/close voltage and remote-control requirements.
Installation
State cable-entry direction, cabinet-lineup and environmental requirements.

Installation & connection checklist

  • Include cable termination sizes and required cable-room space.
  • Provide extension-bus details for additions to an existing lineup.
  • For repairs, send the full breaker reference, truck dimensions and secondary plug photos.
  • Request the selected feeder’s primary and secondary diagrams.
Operating conditions for the listed configuration
  • Indoor installation; altitude up to 1,000 m.
  • Normal ambient range −15 to +40 °C. Special cold-climate configurations require separate agreement.
  • Keep the installation free of significant corrosive or combustible contamination and severe vibration.

State any different ambient temperature, altitude, humidity, dust, salt or corrosive exposure when requesting the installation-specific configuration.
