APPLICATION & DUTY

Where GZDW fits

GZDW supplies DC power for substation protection, breaker operation, automation and emergency loads. The system combines charging, batteries, distribution and monitoring so the DC duty can be defined for both normal operation and loss of the AC supply. Battery capacity is selected from the load profile and required autonomy.

DETAIL / 01

Charger and battery system

The charging equipment and battery bank operate as a coordinated DC source. Battery chemistry, capacity and charging requirements must be agreed together.

DETAIL / 02

Charging modes

Equalising and float charging modes are described, together with voltage and current limiting functions. The selected charging programme must match the battery specification.

DETAIL / 03

System monitoring

The monitoring arrangement covers charging and bus quantities and can include individual battery-voltage information. The required alarm points and displayed measurements belong in the specification.

DETAIL / 04

DC distribution

Outgoing circuits supply the selected operating and auxiliary loads. Continuous load, short-duration operating demand and protective-device coordination all affect the distribution design.
