APPLICATION & DUTY

Where SG(B)10 fits

SG(B)10 is a non-encapsulated dry-type transformer with an impregnated winding insulation system. It is used for building and industrial power distribution where winding construction, thermal class and installation conditions need to be specified together. The performance table distinguishes the loss reference temperatures for the listed insulation classes.

DETAIL / 01

Continuous high-voltage winding

The high-voltage winding uses a continuous construction. Winding geometry and insulation treatment form part of the transformer’s electrical and thermal design.

DETAIL / 02

Foil winding and ceramic supports

The low-voltage winding is foil wound, with ceramic supports used in the winding assembly. Terminal details and mounting arrangements should be reviewed on the selected unit’s drawing.

DETAIL / 03

Vacuum impregnation and curing

The winding system is treated by vacuum impregnation and curing. NOMEX insulation is identified for the construction; specify the intended insulation system and thermal class in the order schedule.

DETAIL / 04

Compare losses at the right temperature

The table lists B/100 °C, F/120 °C and H/145 °C load-loss columns. These reference temperatures are distinct from the insulation class designation and must accompany comparisons.
